SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Commitment and focus wrapped around a powerful Why—rocket fuel for success.”

Since becoming a new RVP, I cannot explain how I feel other than it feels like I am walking on the clouds! How did this success story start for me? Not as one might imagine. My story is one of survival. At the time I was a single mom. I had a new baby girl of 6 months and a 2-year old. We were living on the family farm in southeastern Saskatchewan 14 miles from the nearest small hamlet, Fillmore. Money had run dry. The power company was threatening to disconnect me. I could not afford fuel for my furnace and winter was approaching. I got word the bailiff’s office was coming to take my car away and the farm, my mom struggled to keep for one of us kids, was on the verge of foreclosure. My options, or so I thought, steered towards the ordinary, common solution of finding a job. This gave me a sick feeling in my gut because when I decided to have children, I vowed to always be a constant presence in their life. Not have someone else raise them. Working off the farm would entail me and the kids driving miles and miles everyday, our quality time would be scaled down to a couple of hours. It was a scary and dark time as I considered what to do. Then an alternative solution came into my life—Arbonne!

Arbonne was introduced to me in the Fall of 2005 by ENVP Becky Young, who sent home with me a sample of Arbonne’s NutriMinC® RE9® anti-aging skin care line. A few days later, she called me and asked how I enjoyed it. She informed me that it was plant based. Being a horticulturalist by trade, this really appealed to me. I had used many products in the past and spent a lot of money only to find that they never did what they were advertised to do. However, I was indeed impressed by Arbonne’s products. Becky suggested that I should think about Arbonne as a business. One thing made me hesitate; I was not a sales person. Quiet, shy, timid; these are ways I viewed myself! She presented it very well, so I gave it some thought. I realized that I could simply, and genuinely, recommend it to everyone I knew—many people who had the same frustrations as I. My sales problem was solved, and from that moment on it was “go time” to change my circumstances. Yes, my power did stay on, I was able to fill my furnace fuel, and my car and farm were saved!

I am so happy and excited to tell you that I upgraded to a white Mercedes-Benz within two years! This farm girl is on top of the world. Boy, is it a sight to see on my farm! I would not have done it without the exceptional leadership examples I have had in Arbonne—as it was said at West Canada Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, "So many strong, confident, beautiful women.” What an inspiration!

What I get to teach and pay forward to others including my children is invaluable. My two sweet girls set a goal to diligently clean their toy room every night for two months in order for their dream, to meet Tinkerbell and go to The Mickey Mouse Club House, to come true. In May 2008, thanks to Arbonne, I got to make their little-big dreams come true and pay back my family for their support in my Arbonne business.

Picture this; I am sitting here, looking out the window at Disneyland! Vienna, 5 and Falyn, 3, are snuggled in bed, dressed in their Sleeping Beauty and Tinkerbell nighties. I have tears in my eyes. Their little dreams have come true and my dream to make their little dreams come true has happened. It is just the beginning. I get to pay all I learn about goals, achievement and dreams forward to them. Thank you, Arbonne.

I have many dreams…one of them was becoming RVP! Right off the start, I allowed myself to be 100 percent coachable. I had to embrace belief in myself and others, and to let this company and its leaders direct me down the road to success. Dreams are taught to us when we are little so that we go after them in hopes that they will come true one day. Like a fairy tale. But as we grow, we are encouraged and taught to go get a job with a good company and hope to land a good position. When we do, we are all the while making the person at the top the time and money freedom that once were the foundation of our childhood dreams. I did this for 13 years. I am guilty of regret over missed opportunities to change my life for the better. But I am so proud that I have recognized this and became aware of my potential to be successful in a different, more lucrative and rewarding way through this powerful and brilliant industry. I will not settle for giving up on those dreams that started when I was just a little girl, only to be snuffed out by a society that seems to encourage us that settling is normal and the way it is supposed to be.

When faced with adversities…find the power in them, let them fuel you for change! Some people wondered why I would risk the future of my family for something that was considered an alternative form of income. Now, home based businesses are becoming the norm. I drive that Mercedes-Benz with so much pride; it’s a symbol—a symbol of how many lives I have touched, helped to give hope and change. If you are sitting on the fence about jumping in to Arbonne, think about this: If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you’re getting. Get more for yourself. We live only once—make it your best life ever!

To ENVP Becky Young: Becky, you have always been there for me, believed in me and I cherish all that you have taught me about business and professionalism. You have given me a way out and glasses to see that the sky is the limit; enabled me to erase regret, live up to my potential and change my circumstances! Thank you so very much for your encouragement and belief. Indeed you are a special woman—I am forever grateful.

To my entire team: Where would I be without your love, spirit and encouragement- you have taught me so much—I am so fortunate to have all of you. The value you have added to my life and to my story is indispensable. I appreciate each of you!

EAM Sharon Clay: Even though we both live just outside of Fillmore, Saskatchewan, population about 200, there has been plenty of room for us both! I am so excited as your Mercedes-Benz rolls nearer. I love how genuine and dedicated you are to your Clients and your team. You are a great inspiration to me.

AM Marie Tupper and AM Dana Knihnitski: I admire your strength, resilience, coachability and thoughtfulness. Thank you for enriching me. I can’t wait for you to be driving your Mercedes-Benz’s!

To District Managers Robin Gordey, Shea Driver, Nicole Metzger and Marg Blackmore: What you did to become a District Manager is all you need to do to keep going on up to Nation! I believe in this simple strategy and if you follow it, you will be ENVPs. Thank you for all you do.

To my precious little family: Bobby, you came back into our lives in the spring of ‘07. You keep me fed, clean our home and respect the time I need to contribute to build my business. Thank you for all your support. Vienna and Falyn, my little sweeties, you have been my driving force! Running up the stairs chanting, “Go mommy, go!” when I was working hard to finish for Region, jumping into bed and tugging at my hands to get me up to work. Thank you so much for helping me to keep focused.

To all of my Clients: Thank you so very much for all of your support to help me change my circumstances, be able to stay on my farm and remain a part of the community. I have had so much fun introducing and treating you to the experience of Arbonne. I cherish all of you from the bottom of my heart!

To Arbonne Canada: Thank you for all you have done to encourage me. Elisa Wickersham, thank you for your positivity, belief and wonderful business challenges to help me promote up to RVP!
