Do you believe that you can design your life? I do.

Over the past year, I have made a conscious effort to create my work environment around my family life, instead of my family life around my work. Working from home can be both challenging and liberating. It takes great discipline to create flexibility.

At Arbonne, we believe you can have anything you want in life when you help others get what they want. Our team approach is helping to change the lives of many families. We are helping people dream again. What would your life look like if you could design it? What would allow you to dream again?

If you had told me two years ago that I would have an amazing skin care business, I probably would have told you, “You are crazy.” At the time, I was not looking to add anything to my already very busy life. My husband, Mark and I own a restaurant franchise, we had a two year old and we were trying for another child. Needless to say, I did not think I had extra time to introduce something new into my life.

In early June of 2006, I went to visit Krista (my sister and sponsor) in Vancouver and I had agreed to come to Seattle with her to an Arbonne ACTnow training weekend. To be honest, the real draw for me was a few days away with Krista and without our kids! I had no idea what an impact this weekend would have on my life.

I sat in session after session and listened to amazing National Vice Presidents tell their success stories. I was amazed at the type of individuals this company attracted. I was amazed at the quality of the trainings. I was amazed at the positive energy that surrounded me everywhere I went because these people loved what they were doing. I was blown away. Arbonne attracts amazing people and the people who rise to the top have a positive belief in themselves and the company.

Sometimes it is short-term pain for long-term gain in this business. In this industry, people overestimate what they will make in the short term and underestimate what they will make in the long term. Commit to the process and the journey.

This company is unbelievable. If you are willing to do what it takes to build a successful organization, you will be treated so well. I just returned from NTC, where I had the privilege of attending numerous VP events, walking across the stage for VP recognition in front of 16,000 people and meeting Tim McGraw backstage—what other company does this? And a white Mercedes-Benz to top it all off!

What I did not know when I started my Arbonne business was the many opportunities that awaited me for personal growth and leadership. Arbonne has given me another avenue in my life to fulfill these. They say that Arbonne is a personal growth company disguised as a skin care company, and I truly believe this.

One of my favourite books to read to my four year old teaches some important lessons about life.

First, you are great no matter what. It is so important to believe in yourself on this journey. You will have so many people tell you that you cannot do this. Make it your mission to surround yourself with positive people who believe in you.

Second, persistence pays off. This business is about committing to the journey. Remove the option of quitting.

Third, welcome the unknown. This is hard for us as adults; remember that change is a good thing because it makes us grow.

And finally, be enthusiastic. The most important thing you can do for your business is to be positive. People want to spend time with those who make them feel good. Being a positive person and finding passion for this business will help grow your business more than anything else.

We are all looking for a reason to dream again. Arbonne gives you the ability to dream. And it is not just about the potential for financial freedom. Dream about being present with your children. Dream about creating the most wonderful friendships imaginable. Dream about being encouraged and recognized for your accomplishments. Dream about being proud of yourself.

I look at my team and am thankful to Arbonne for bringing us together. I have several direct business builders that I did not know before I started this business. They are now very close friends of mine and it is an honour to work so closely with them.

Krista, you are the best big sister. Thanks for introducing this into my life and for believing in me. I would not be here if it were not for your wonderful leadership and dedication to your team.

To Mom and Dad: I have so many people always tell me how great you two are. You are amazing parents. You have always supported Krista and me unconditionally in everything we have done. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement—it means so much to me.

To Mark, Tye and Carter: Thanks for understanding when Mommy had to be out working my business. I promise to take us all to Walt Disney World® as soon as Carter is old enough.

To Sara and Sharon: Thank you for your leadership and your dedication. I cannot imagine sharing this journey with anyone else. Your friendship is so important to me and I will be cheering the loudest when you two walk across the stage as RVPs at NTC next year.

To all of my District Managers: You are all amazing friends and I am very thankful to Arbonne for bringing us together. It will be so exciting for me to see you reach your next goal of Area Manager.

To Jane Thibault and Angela Collins: You guys are wonderful crosslines and I thank you both for believing in the spirit of Arbonne and sharing so much with me.

To the Canadian team—Stuart, John and Jackie: Thank you so much for your support and leadership in building the Canadian market. I know we have not seen anything yet!

I would like to end with a favourite saying, which encourages us to risk more than others think is safe, care more than others think is wise, dream more than others think is practical and expect more than others think is possible.
