SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Allow yourself to succeed!”

One night in January of 2005, I was off to Niki’s for an outing away from the farm and my two kids. I was running late, so by the time my good friend, Trish, and I arrived, the Presentation had already started. NVP Sonya Shields asked if we would like to try the Awaken Sea Salt Scrub. Because we had been calving our 150 head of Fleckvieh Simmentals, my hands were dry and cracking — a mess. After trying the scrub, all I could think was, “Great, I am going to buy that sea salt scrub. Now I do not need to pay attention for the rest of the night.”

I was probably one of the worst guests ever, visiting more than paying attention because I was finally out for the night and interested in socializing. Sonya talked about the NutriMinC® RE9® anti-aging skin care line and how it could help the dark circles under my eyes. Well, my ears perked up. My daughter was 5 years old and my baby boy was 8 months old, and with the hard labor involved in calving, my eyes were dark. Could this possibly help? By the end of the night, Niki had circled the NutriMinC® RE product set in my Product Catalogue and Sonya was telling me about the Consultant’s discount. I thought to myself, “If this stuff works, I should do it.” I left with a skin care sample pack and started using it that night. After three days, I saw a difference and so did my husband.

All I needed to do was give this product to everyone I knew. Could it be that simple? I did what Sonya told me, and it worked. A month later in February, I promoted to DM. That got me planning ahead with Arbonne. I wanted to go to Hawaii in September and needed to get all the ASAP points available. However, February was going to be a busy month and I did not know how I was going to devote any time to Arbonne. This was the month of our bull sale, we still had calving to do, and my husband, being the current World Champion Auctioneer, was gone a lot. Thank goodness his parents and my mom could help out on the farm.

Faith led me to my first business builders, Deena and Heather. Deena, thank you for being a very hard-working person. I am ready to take you to the top with me. I called Heather because I knew her daughter had dry skin. Although I did not know either of these ladies as close friends, I knew they would benefit from the Arbonne products and the opportunity. Heather held a Presentation for me, but did not want to do the business. After some convincing, she joined me and now she is helping to earn half of my volume.

Throughout my Arbonne experience, I have had to go through a long journey of personal growth. Early in my business, my compass was not set for success. I am still working on it, but I have some advice to anyone intending to have an Arbonne business: Just allow yourself to succeed, the little voice inside is not always right. Have you ever questioned whether what you were taught is a hindrance or a help to your success? Are you just settling for what life brings you? Do you believe that you can potentially be financially set, or that you deserve it? If you find yourself questioning your ability to succeed with Arbonne, you need to tell that negative voice, “Thank you for sharing, but I only listen to things that empower me.” Another lesson I learned through Arbonne was how to balance my life. I am able to prioritize and put my family first. And, it has made all of the difference.

Danny and I did get to Hawaii, and I went with 26 Canadians to ACTnow Louisville. When I went to Hawaii in September, I wanted to be an RVP. I came home and made it happen. Now I am convinced that it is only a matter of time before I will be an NVP because I am ready to take the great leaders on my team, as well as my crosslines to the top with me.

Sonya, thanks for blessing me by giving me this amazing opportunity. Niki, thanks for having that Presentation. Trish, thanks for telling me that I would be okay. To ENVPs Alicia and Meloni: You showed me that I can be an ENVP, too. You have changed my life.

To my sponsor, ERVP Tammy Braithwaite: I did not have a computer when I first started, so I used yours every day for two weeks. We had a great time getting to know each other in Hawaii.

To my wonderful team, EAMs Jill and Heather, AMs Tobi and Dana and AM-in-qualification Nicole; and DMs, Dale, Loreen, Tammy, Lisa, Darla, Brook, Marisa, Elaine, Jackie, Joan, Tammy, Gail, Deena, Joanne, Jeanine, and to my crossline, AM Corina, all our AMs-in-qualification, DMs-in-qualification and Consultants: Thank you for being awesome leaders. You have taught me so much. I have sponsored up with you and your teams. I know we are growing so fast that I cannot keep up.

To the people who are joining us: This can happen to you. I am glad you have made the decision to do Arbonne.

To the Home Office staff, especially Tonyta: I could not have gotten here without you.

To Danny: You are the best. You have never let me down. We have grown closer and we are working together better than ever.

My kids are my biggest Why. To my daughter, Mackenzie: You are my right hand and sample giver. To my baby boy, Garren: Thanks for grounding me.

To my mom: Thank you for your God-given words and for all of your prayers. I know that God is guiding me.

To my sister, Janet: Thank you for helping me write my Eye on Arbonne success story. Although I am dyslexic, I do not let this stop me.

I could have made any number of excuses not to do Arbonne, such as, “I am just too busy,” or “I do not have the Internet,” or “I do not think I could do a business like this.” But instead of making excuses, I made a decision to do the business to the best of my ability. And if I can, you can. I do not need to touch everything that is in my volume because there is always someone working when I am not. I am prepared to go to the top and to bring my team with me. Join us, now!
