SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Sponsor, teach and
share the products.”

It is funny how a year-and-a-half can change your life! My husband, two small children and I live on a grain and cattle ranch in Saskatchewan, Canada. Up until I started Arbonne in November of 2004, I was a substitute teacher and worked part time for the provincial government. I made enough money to get by and was home with my children for the majority of the time, which is what I wanted most. The problem was that I was not content. I needed something more for myself.

I stumbled upon Arbonne when my best friend, now ERVP Katharine Leier, had a Presentation at her house to help launch NVP Becky Young’s business. I went to that Presentation with no intention of buying skin care, let alone starting my own business! However, as I tried the Sea Salt Scrub, I fell in love with it and saw the wide range of pure, safe, beneficial products available to babies, men and women. I was very impressed. Then, as ENVP Sonya Shields spoke about Arbonne, the company, and how new it is to Canada, I really began to see the incredible potential of having a business. I decided I was going to go for it! What did I have to lose? If things did not work out, I had phenomenal products for myself and my family, and I would receive a discount off all my Arbonne purchases.

Over the next year-and-four-months, many things happened that I had not bargained for. I met an amazing group of women. I grew more, personally, than I ever have in my entire lifetime, and I fulfilled my goal of leaving my part-time job to work from home. Wow! What a feeling that was. When you sign up to do Arbonne, you first think that you are signing up to sell skin care products. This is only part of this business. What you are really doing is sharing these amazing products with as many people as you can, teaching others to do the same and helping them build their businesses, as you have. Not always in that order. You do not have to sponsor the world. Just by finding a few people, helping them find their business partners and setting this trend in motion can generate enough momentum to help you reach your goals. The networking begins when you sponsor, teach and share.

Of course, this work is simple, but not easy. NVP Becky Young, ERVP Katharine Leier and I were the first three to do Arbonne in our area. Our meetings consisted of the three of us around a kitchen table. Most people had never heard of Arbonne and could not figure out why we would want to sell it. I have had my share of “nos,” flopped Presentations and encounters with negative dreamstealers. I have felt like quitting on occasion, but I chose not to. You have to choose to succeed in this business, no matter what. If you stick to the system, and keep working and setting your goals, you will achieve them all. The only way to fail is to quit.

First off, I would like to thank my best friend and sponsor, ERVP Katharine Leier. Katharine, thank you for all the laughs! You are such a fun-loving person, always willing to dive in and make the most of things. Thanks for starting the business with me and putting up with me. Your generosity is incredible and I would not be an RVP today, if it were not for you and those qualities. I know our families are going to have amazing holidays together soon enough!

To NVP Becky Young: Thank you for bringing Arbonne to Saskatch-ewan and showing us the way. We three “amigos” have come a long way in such a short time.

To my first business builder, DM Jaylene Quibell: Thank you for joining me on this Arbonne journey. Thanks for all your hard work, determination and friendship. I cannot wait for your day as an RVP to come, too!

To my mom, EAM Linda Leitner: You hesitated in joining me on this mission, but eventually you saw my vision. What daughter would not want her extremely “young-at-heart” mother on her team? It is so special to have you as one of my partners and enjoy this dream with you and dad.

To RVP-in-qualification Nichole Posehn: You have had many ups and downs in this business, but you have not let any of them stop you and that is so important in this job. Thank you for being an incredible team member and friend.

To my sisters-in-law, AM Bev Rist and DM Heather MacBean: Thank you both for sharing my enthusiasm for Arbonne. It is so special to have two “sisters” to share this with. I cannot wait to see all of our white Mercedes-Benzes at our family gatherings!

To my whole team of AMs, DMs, Consultants and Clients: Each and every one of you played an important part of the success of our Region and I would not be an RVP without all of you.

To my supportive husband, Allan: Many thanks for all of your help with the kids and for keeping up our home. You have been a believer right from day one and you have helped me achieve my goals in many ways. You are a great “Mr. Mom!”

To my little angels, Morgan and Luke: Thank you so much for putting up with mommy’s busy times on the phone, or putting up with me being away at Presentations. You both are little troupers and I cannot wait to reward you with a trip to DisneyWorld®.

I always wanted to teach and went into education as a career because of that dream. That is what I am doing now. I teach others how to dream again and how to improve their lives. I truly love my job and the person I have become because of it. The gift of Arbonne is in all of the wonderful people you form relationships with and the person you become along the way. My job is to help others see this gift and embrace it.
