SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Stand up and finish what you started.”

Is something missing in your life? Where are you spending your extra time, if any? Do you get that sick feeling on Sunday night because you have to start another workweek? If you answered yes, then it is no surprise you are reading my story.

My husband, John and I farm near Odessa, in Southeast Saskatchewan. Prior to Arbonne, I worked countless hours for the Provincial Government and put in weekends working as an SCA at a nursing home. Five years later, along with my sister-in-law, ERVP Michelle Schaeffer, there are two Mercedes-Benzes parked at local functions in our community ... who would have ever thought!

In November of 2004, at my mother's home, I attended my first Arbonne Presentation, only to support my sister-in-law, ERVP Michelle Schaeffer. I was a hard sell, not wanting to give it a try. I had no intention of switching my skin care products and I certainly had no desire to get involved with another home-based business. It took only three days of using the NutriMinC® RE9™ anti-aging skin care set to make me realize that the Arbonne products were superior to the ones I had been contentedly using for the last 18 years. My lack of knowledge regarding network marketing and time leveraging stopped me from learning about Arbonne as a business ... for a time.

Strangely enough, five months later a simple question my little brother Allan asked opened the door to a brighter future for me. “If you keep doing what you are doing, where will you be in five years?” After a few sleepless nights, I knew I had to get involved!

I dove into the business with a vengeance! I was a sponge and absorbed everything I could get my hands on. I attended many meetings, listened to audios, and shared the gift of Arbonne with everyone I met. I fit Arbonne into the nooks and crannies of my day, all the while working my full-time job and raising a family.

I experienced the culture and saw the vision and opportunity Arbonne has to offer during my first National Training Celebration. Attending that event was the real “deal sealer” for my business. I became a District Manager in two months and an Area Manager shortly after. I then made the decision to take a short leave from work because I was seeing the time leveraging benefits of my growing team. That leave ended up being a permanent one!

I did not arrive where I am today without working on myself, and I definitely didn't have a speedy journey. I had to take note of the areas in my life that needed attention. My marriage of almost 25 years was struggling. I had knots in my stomach at the thought of starting another workweek. I lacked confidence in myself and feared success. We made vision boards at one of our team meetings and I was lost! You see, the scary thing was, I had no dreams or goals and I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. At 40 years old, it was time to take responsibility and fix my life. There's a saying — “get over yourself” — and that's what I did. I also gave myself permission to dream again. The more I worked on myself, the more my life improved. I have gone from never reading personal growth books, to having a library full of them. My marriage is back on track and we are happier than ever. Obviously, even though it has taken me five years to reach this milestone, my business is thriving, or I would not be writing this story.

I learned early in my business that the only way to fail is to quit. I made a decision in 2005 to follow through on my word and bring others with me to the top of this company, which holds true to this day. This business is about helping people reach their highest potential, whatever that may be. Believe that anything is possible. Dream big. Commit to your business, and then quitting will never be an option for you. I want to thank my entire team for their friendship, and for making this journey fun!

To AM Lisa Newby: You keep me on my toes and make me a better person. Thank you.

To DMs, Penny Gustafson, Sari Staniforth, Brenda Muhr, Candice Zinn, Ashley Rist, Sheila Girvin, Kelly Moysey, Jennifer Zinn, Cheryl Campbell, Linda Levesque-Butler, Debra Poitras and David Larsen: I would not be here if it were not for many of you right from the beginning. You are the heart and soul of this business. Continue to plug into the system and have a “no-matter-what” attitude. I am grateful for each of you.

To all new Consultants: Trust that we have your best interests at heart, be coachable and give it enough time.

To my sponsor, AM Linda Leitner: You overcame your own obstacles, and made no excuse. When I think of you, I think of the little engine: “I think I can, I think I can!”

To my sister-in-law, ERVP Michelle Schaeffer: We did it! Your conviction from the beginning made me a believer. Thank you for sharing this gift with me and so many others.

To ENVP Sonya Shields, ENVP Becky Young and ERVP Katherine Leier: What a blessing to be part of your SuccessLine.

Mom and Dad: Thank you for your constant support and for being my biggest fans.

To my husband, John and my family, DM Ashley, Lacey and John Ray: Thank you for believing in and supporting me from day one, although I know you must have thought, “Is it ever going to happen?” Now let me take care of our future!

A special thanks to all of my Clients for your business and last-minute orders — your support has always been very important to me.

To the Arbonne Canada Home Office: You are so generous in giving back to us. Thank you.

Arbonne will change your life forever, if you let it. Dream the impossible because what if ... what if it works for you!
