SUCCESS STRATEGY:

Do you wake up each morning “on purpose”? Do you feel that you are being the best person you can be and fulfilling your life's potential? I certainly thought that I was doing what I was meant to do by raising our two children at home, but I can tell you honestly that I was not living life to my fullest potential.

When Arbonne crossed my path, I was not seeking a change. My husband Matt and I lived comfortably and I was raising our two children. Life was good. However, I found myself in a rut and I missed a life where I could have experiences of my own and achieve success that would contribute to our family's quality of life. I also wanted to make a difference. I had been in marketing prior to having children and I worked long hours — more than I was paid for. This was not a life that I wanted with Grace and Noah, because time and love is the best gift I can give them.

In 2006, I was fortunate enough to help at an event celebrating Arbonne's official launch in Canada. I didn't know much about the company and had negative thoughts about the industry of network marketing. As the weekend went on, I found myself in awe over the Arbonne Independent Consultants I met and observed. There was something attractive about them that I admired. They were excited, living their dreams and retiring their husbands so that both parents could be home raising their families. I never dreamed that people could accomplish so much while staying home with their kids. The wheels in my head started to spin and I left there with the decision to give Arbonne a chance to change my family's life.

Initially, my husband was very unsupportive. I received similar negative reactions from our extended family and it was very apparent that I was going to be doing this on my own. It fueled my fire! I can honestly say that I built most of my business on a cold market. I had to put myself out on a limb, get out of my comfort zone and ask for opinions on the products by using the samples and doing events in people's homes. I knew that these products could make a difference in people's lives.

I soon realized that the secret to success is consistency of purpose. Arbonne is not a business to take lightly if you plan to make the most of this opportunity. It is a business that is meant to become a part of your everyday life. You can still do all that you currently do, whether working full time or raising children, but you need to bring it into your world with a big Why.

I followed every piece of advice ENVP Sonya Shields gave me after many ups and downs. I got into activity to share these products with anyone who would listen and I stopped allowing others to affect my result. I sat with my two children and now supportive husband and asked them whether they were willing to make the sacrifices we needed to create a future of certainty and fruitfulness. With their blessing and pure determination, I have lit a fire so bright in my mind that I do wake up every morning “on purpose”! My children have watched their mom grow in confidence, as a leader and as a mom and wife. I wake up every morning to my children and not an alarm clock. We have travelled to places we may never have been able to otherwise. Most of all, Matt, Grace, Noah and I have taught ourselves to dream big and believe that nothing is impossible when you dedicate yourself to a goal.

Matt, thank you for seeing my vision and loving me through this. You are the best dad and husband anyone could ask for! I love you so big... Huge!

Grace and Noah, you have made sacrifices, but through this you have gained a relationship with your dad that most people only dream of! Our lives are so blessed and I thank God for you every day. The angels certainly took extra care when they made you, my beauties! I can't wait to see what you do with your lives as a result of everything you have witnessed so far.

To our parents: I know that you have had to pick up the slack at times, but the memories Grace and Noah have as a result of sharing time with you are lifelong. Dad, you are my hero, and Mom, you are my angel. You are both my best friends!

Thank you, ENVP Sonya Shields, for the courage you gave me until I developed my own, and for helping me develop belief in myself. You are a bright light in this world and I cherish you and love you dearly. I hope to be the leader and friend that you are to so many!

To our fun and promising Region: You are all my dear friends and none of this would have been possible without you. I vow to help each of you reach your destination and enjoy the journey along the way. Dream, believe, achieve!
