““Believe and act as if it was impossible to fail.””

They say, “Never say never,” and I am living proof! I have a corporate sales background in telecommunications, and ironically, we sold products to companies in the Direct Sales Association. My exposure to network marketing had made up my mind for me a long time ago; I knew that I would never be interested in this type of opportunity. You can imagine that it was a big surprise to me—and an even bigger one for my husband—when I made the decision to join Arbonne and build a business.

Before my husband and I had children, the challenges of the corporate world were exciting, but after our daughter, Claire, 7, and our son, Graydon, 4, came along, everything changed. My priorities shifted from meeting corporate challenges to my family life. I wanted to do something that I loved—while earning a great living—but without having to give up the time and flexibility to enjoy life and my family. It was also important to me to be present for my kids and to be excited about what the future holds.

Arbonne came into my life when I met my sponsor, ERVP Valerie Darien, in October 2007 at the Arbonne Canada home office. At this point, I had already been looking for something, so when Val handed me the beautiful gold sample kit of NutriMinC® RE9® products and shared her excitement about the business, I immediately thought of the possibilities. I tried the products for three days and fell in love with them! Very importantly, I felt that Val and I had connected. I loved her calm and confident style, and knew that if she was indicative of the type of people who represented Arbonne, then there was something special about this organization.

At our follow-up appointment, my decision was made and I was fully committed. I reached the District Manager level in two months and then Area Manager seven months later. I consistently kept up my personal activity—sponsoring, selling product and following up—and my momentum continued to grow. I was confident that this would result in finding business builders. In the sixth month of my business, while I was in qualification for Area Manager, I promoted my first business builder to District Manager.

The turning point for me—what really changed my business and helped me to attract and lead the amazing business builders that I have on my team—was my investment in personal development. I listened to the Arbonne Learn & Burn™ audio trainings, completed Arbonne University modules, and read personal development books every day for a minimum of 30 minutes. I began to understand that it is vital to believe and act as if it was impossible to fail. I began to consistently write down my goals and I focused on achieving them as well as helping my team achieve theirs. Everything changed when I did.

To my mom and dad, who raised me with an entrepreneurial spirit, your constant encouragement taught me to believe that I could do anything I set my mind to. To my brother, John and his wife, Lianne, you have been so generous with your precious gift of time. And to the rest of my family, who have supported my business in many ways, thank you, I love and appreciate all of you very much.
