“Commit to the activity and surrender the outcome.”

Setting her doubts about network marketing aside, Lyndsy Pahl of Coquitlam, British Columbia, decided to give the business a try when she realized she had the potential to replace her six-figure income and enjoy more time with family.

I was introduced to Arbonne by my neighbor, EAM Cheryl Haapalo, in 2009. She asked if I could see myself doing a business like Arbonne. I laughed because, frankly, I thought network marketing was for bored housewives. That wasn't me.

I was a business manager at a large car dealership. I had been there for six years and worked 50 hours a week. It was a dog-eat-dog career, but I loved it. I first began making a six-figure income in my late 20s. Once I had my daughter, it was very rough keeping up the pace. When Cheryl met me, my daughter Graesha was two, and I was searching for something different that could pay me the same amount of money, but require less hours.

After several invitations to look at the Arbonne opportunity, I attended an event and finally took this business seriously. ERVP Dr. Julie Tung told us that an Independent Consultant could make the same income I was currently making. I had no idea! This was what I had been looking for all along. I felt compelled by the information and jumped in!

I weaved my Arbonne business around my work. I knew the short-term sacrifice would pay off in the long run. I hoped to go part time at my job when my daughter was in kindergarten. I started my business in October of 2009 and in June of 2010, I was actually able to quit my job, ahead of schedule!

Now life for my family is much different. I get to have more family time than ever before and work my business around it. Arbonne is the single best thing I have done for our expanding family. We are expecting our second daughter in October 2012.

I am blessed to have been recognized in the Parade of Champions two years in a row as a top 20 performer. All I did was build my business using the system taught to me by my upline. I have a passion for this opportunity and for empowering people to change their own lives with this business. I know there are other men and women out there who are in careers they aspired to, like me, but they are living in quiet desperation because life didn't turn out the way they'd hoped. To earn my Mercedes-Benz was amazing, but I know it will be even better when I can hand the keys to more people on my team!

Setting big goals and staying connected will propel your business. There have been ups and downs for me, as there always will be, but if you truly believe that you will achieve your goals, you will! Being a servant leader is also crucial. It is the best feeling to know that you are giving others the choice to follow their dreams.

To my husband, Scott: Your even-keel nature and deep belief in my ability to do anything I set my mind to is one of the most valuable tools of my business. You are my rock. Together, we are unstoppable! To my daughter, Graesha: Thank you for being your tenacious self and teaching me what determined looks like. I do this for you, my beautiful family. I love you both so much.

I want to thank my entire team of friends. To AM Carla Roque: You are doing it! It won't be long before you are driving a Mercedes-Benz of your own. I can't wait for our family trips to Maui! To DMs Valerie Pfister, Shelley Bilodeau, Daniela Hammond, Jacqueline Leclerc, Franny Cartmel, Renee Stewart, Melinda Mooney, Karen Ramirez and Chelsea Crane: Your hard work and determination does not go unnoticed! Keep moving in the direction of your dreams. Watching you all grow is the biggest reward!

To EAM Cheryl Haapalo: Your unconditional love has taught me how to treat people, how to give of myself, and how to be vulnerable. I am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for pursuing me even after I told you no!

To ERVP Dr. Julie Tung: Thank you for sticking by me even when I was tough to coach and I thought I knew better. I value our lifelong friendship and am so glad to be in business with you!
