SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Optimism is essential to
achievement, and it is also the
foundation of courage
and true progress.”

A famous American businessman once commented that, “If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.” Ordinary can be comfortable, but it does not create excitement, arouse passion, or raise expectations. I was ready for the extraordinary. For the past decade, I had been a full-time mother to my children, Mikayla and Ethan. This had been the most demanding and rewarding time of my life. Yet the days of tending to my children from morning to evening had come to an end. They had both grown to an age where they were attending school full days.

I was confronted with the challenge of defining myself in a new phase of my life. I had no intention of returning to the paralegal work that I did prior to raising my children. It was not something that I enjoyed, yet I did come away from my experience with some valuable insights. I knew that, as much as compensation matters, flexibility and autonomy were very important to me. I wanted to be my own boss, decide on how I spent my time, and ultimately be in control of my destiny. I also recognized that my children model my behaviour. Thus, I simply could not resign myself to just any “job.” I wanted them to see how I could challenge myself to excel, so that they could learn to do the same for themselves. I had set my goals, but I did not yet have a vehicle to help me achieve them.

Fortunately, my mother, EAM Pat Moore, introduced me to Arbonne. Not surprisingly, I fell in love with the products and was intrigued by the potential of a home-based business. After spending considerable time with my husband, Dr. John Ogrodniczuk, researching network marketing and Arbonne, in particular, I was thoroughly convinced that a golden opportunity was before me. Arbonne was a well-established company with a sound business model and clearly defined, long-term plans for expansion. Yet fear nearly paralyzed me. I had no formal business training, no business experience, and a fleeting sense of confidence that I could run a successful business of this type. However, the words of that famous businessman echoed in my head. I knew that I had to step out of my comfort zone and take risks in order to achieve my goals. I dared myself to succeed.

In the two years since I started my business, I have been able to achieve my goals and surpass even my highest expectations. Mine is not a story of how someone can achieve success through Arbonne in a minimal amount of time. That was not a priority for me. My family was my priority. My business fit around my family, not vice versa. Sure, there were times that I had to put a little extra time into my business activities, but as much as I could, I made it a learning experience for my whole family. Mikayla and Ethan have both learned a lot from their contribution — a multitude of valuable lessons that can benefit them throughout their life. Of course, I have learned a lot about business — and about myself. I learned that optimism, hard work, and dedication are critical for success in this business, as in any other aspect of life. I pushed my limits and discovered how easy it is to set them at new heights. I discovered new talents and a strong sense of confidence that I can, indeed, achieve anything I set my mind to.

For those of you who may be contemplating beginning an Arbonne business, I strongly encourage you to give it very serious consideration. There are few other ways to create wealth as efficiently and in manner that provides the flexibility and autonomy that so many of us desire in our work, but so few actually experience. The prosperity that this business is capable of providing can afford you an opportunity to experience life in a whole new way. Can you dare yourself to succeed?

The gift that Arbonne has been to me is not mine to be enjoyed alone. By its very nature, network marketing succeeds through teamwork. I am humbled to be surrounded by so many talented, dedicated and generous people.

To my entire team: I am so happy that you have seized this opportunity to build your own Arbonne business — work hard and enjoy yourself. Success will come. You are all incredible individuals.

To ERVP Krista Bernard: You demonstrate true leadership. Thank you for raising the bar and offering support along the way.

To my sponsor and mom, EAM Pat Moore: Thank you for your encouragement. It is remarkable where two years can take you with Arbonne. None of this would have happened without you — my life is completely different and filled with fantastic memories.

To my family, John, Mikayla and Ethan: Your support has been nothing short of incredible. Thank you for being there every step of the way.

To my DMs: Sigrid Alsaker Avila, Anita Burleson, Kelly Morrison, Jung-hwa Kim and Andrea Buckley. Thank you for believing in my vision. Keep committed to your business and all of your dreams will come true.

To Caroline and Kevin Dick, my first official Australian business builders: You have such a fantastic attitude about building this business. I know you will accomplish all your goals. My experience as your exchange student was life changing. Thank you for bringing me into your family.

To my friend, Carol Flynn: You are a true friend. We both know that dreams do come true.

The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure. Do not let fear stand in your way of creating a life you only dreamed of.
