SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Take the focus off yourself and this company can be the vehicle to change your life, and the lives of others in the process.”

Julie Nash of Whistler, British Columbia had a great job, but it lacked flexibility for her young family. When she discovered the amazing Arbonne products and a business opportunity to back it, she overcame her fears in order to gain the freedom and flexibility she was looking for!

When I learned of Arbonne, I had just returned to work as an ultrasound technologist following my second maternity leave. I was fortunate to have a great job in a beautiful ski resort, and I considered my life with my husband to be pretty amazing — we skied, mountain biked and travelled together. Our motto was, “Work hard, play hard.”

Our lives became crazy with two beautiful, energetic young girls, and suddenly, my perfect job was not working for our family of four. Around this time, I stopped in to see a friend who had just had a baby; she was a very excited new mother and was also launching a new business. She gave me a skin care sample to try and I grabbed some business information. When I used the sample, I could feel it working! The wheels started to turn. What if I could start my own business and work one day less a week, to be home with my girls one day more a week? I loved the idea that I could grow an international business from home or while travelling. I attended a Nation training and realized this company was going to grow, with or without me. I knew I had to get busy. It would be hard work and less play for a while, but that was okay.

I knew this company could mean the difference for our family, but I would have to get out of my comfort zone to make it work. I got a big lump in my throat knowing what I had to do. My obstacle was public speaking. I had spent my entire life avoiding it. Light bulb moment ... my reason for growing my business was not about me. It was about my family, being present in my children's daily lives, and having freedom and flexibility to work when I wanted to. This mind shift moved me out of my comfort zone. I worked my way through my first Presentations and I didn't die, even though at times I felt I would! Don't think about yourself, think about your Why for growing your business and how you can help others. Take the focus off yourself and this company can be the vehicle to change your life, and the lives of others in the process.

We promoted to Region in November 2009. It was very exciting earning the “company car,” but even better was giving the keys to my first business partner! Four weeks after I promoted, Judi Clarke promoted to Region too!

I now work from home around my kids' schedules. This past summer, they went to bike camp two days a week for eight weeks. They are learning at a young age our “play hard” motto.

I love talking about the business and encouraging people to share it. My Sponsor did not think of me as a business partner, because I already had a profession. She was surprised when I asked about the Arbonne opportunity. I learned from that conversation that you cannot pre-judge.

Thank you to my wonderful husband, Dave: You have supported me in every way with advice, humour and love. Caitlin and Tatum, you are my Why for starting my business, my baby girls.

To my first business partner, RVP Judi Clarke: You gave me confidence that people were looking for what we have. All the ladies I adore — AM Tina Durlacher; DMs Meg Capaldi, Nicole Connelly, Kali Deans, Moira Halliwell, Chantal Black and Karen Giglia; and the rocking Australian team, AM Milissa Lennon, AM Cath Cooke and DM Lynne Chao: You are all pioneers.

To my Sponsor, Jen Neudecker: Thank you for sharing this business with me.

To NVP Krista Bernard: Thank you for all the support and guidance over the years, and for paving the way.

To former President Rita Davenport, CEO Kay Napier, Michelle McPhie, the entire Arbonne Home Office and all the pioneers before us: Thank you.

To my Clients and friends: Thank you for enjoying the beautiful Arbonne products and for your continued support over the last two and a half years.
