“Begin with the end in mind.”

If you were to ask me 18 months ago what I would be doing right now, I definitely would not have told you I would be writing my Eye on Arbonne. Before becoming a mom, I worked as a hair stylist. I loved helping people feel good about who they were and teaching them how to look their best. After having my first daughter, Zaiah, I returned to work as a restaurant manager. My husband, Danny, had been injured at work and was forced to go on disability. Shortly afterwards, our second daughter, Arlie, came along. We were very happy with our little family, but we struggled financially. It always seemed like there was more “month” than there was money.

It was while on maternity leave with Arlie that I was introduced to Arbonne. A friend of mine, Penka Thompson, called me one day and asked if I would be open to looking at the Arbonne opportunity. I replied, “No thank you. It's not for me. I don't sell, and I don't do parties.”

She offered me a trial of the NutriMinC® RE9™ anti-aging skin care anyway, and after a very short time, I saw amazing results. I had always had trouble with my skin and could never find anything that worked. After trying the RE9 line, I kept saying to my husband, “Feel my face! It's unbelievable!” Needless to say, I was intrigued. I decided I would eat my pride and call my friend back to hear more about what Arbonne had to offer.

What I discovered surprised me! Arbonne was not just about amazing products, but also good ethics, integrity and amazing people. I wanted so badly to be home with my girls and see my husband in a job that not only paid the bills, but fulfilled him, too. I had been challenged with the question: “If you keep doing what you're doing, where will you be in five years' time?” I knew that the path I was on was not leading to a place I was excited about, and I decided that Arbonne could be the answer. I then decided to jump into this business and change my path.

Do you ever feel like you are a little bit good at a lot of things? That was how I felt for a long time. I was always pretty good at the things I put my hand to, but I never pursued them long enough to be really great. Arbonne was the first opportunity that was really great for me.

I quickly realized that the things that drew me to working in a salon were the same things I was able to do through my Arbonne business. I help people look better, feel better and make healthier choices for their lives. The major difference has been that through Arbonne, I am also able to offer this life-changing opportunity to others.

Since starting my journey with Arbonne, my motto has been: “Begin with the end in mind.” I visualized driving that white Mercedes-Benz months before I actually earned it. I learned that short-term sacrifice for long-term gain is always worth it and that choosing a positive attitude can make all the difference. My journey has had its share of ups and downs. I faced challenges, such as being new to a city where there were no RVPs, with only two RVPs in the whole province! There was also the challenge of some of my friends and family believing I was crazy to start a business like Arbonne. But in the end, I decided to write my own story. I chose more for my family than just mediocrity and did not let others determine my outcome.

Choosing Arbonne just 18 short months ago has given me the freedom to take my girls to play every day on my schedule. After eight months of my working this business, my husband was able to quit his old job and take his dream job as a pyrotechnician. Most of all, Arbonne has afforded our family the opportunity to dream again. We had been so stuck trying to make ends meet that we had forgotten to dream about our future. I know that because of Arbonne, the possibilities for us are limitless! I now have time to mentor young girls at my church as well as work as a visual artist teaching others how to express themselves artistically. My husband and I are able to give to charities that we believe can make a real difference. Since choosing to step out and take a risk with Arbonne, life has not been the same ... and I am not looking back!

To my wonderful husband, Danny: Thank you for seeing the potential in this business and in me from day one. Your ongoing support and belief has meant the world to me. You are my best friend, and I am so thankful I get to be on this journey called life with you.
