SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“To rise out of mediocrity, you must not be afraid to fail.”

On January 26, 2005, just over one year ago, I had my first Arbonne Presentation as a brand new Consultant. My horoscope that day promised to be a day full of excitement and enthusiasm; that I may have been on the verge of starting a new enterprise of some kind that could change my life. It also said the future looked bright that day, and I would feel as if there was a lot to look forward to.

When I began my Arbonne business, I was a licensed insurance agent. At 23, I did not feel it would be the profession from which I would retire. Little did I know the Arbonne opportunity would change my life as it has.

My sister, Becky, started with Arbonne in October 2004 and steadily “dripped” the Arbonne opportunity on me. Eventually, I came to the realization that maybe, just maybe, this Arbonne thing could work for me! My “wait and see” attitude could not “wait and see” any longer.

I was just getting by financially, so Becky gave me a loan. I am so thankful to her because that loan got me through the next month, which proved to be a pivotal time for my business. If you are in this situation, I urge you to find a way to get into business, even if it means borrowing money because in Arbonne, 30 days can be equivalent to a lifetime!

In February, I stumbled upon my first Ace, ERVP Jaclyne Kunz, who sponsored her first Ace, RVP Brook Robertson. Brook and Jaclyne, you are both amazing and I am so proud of your accomplishments this past year. I would not be where I am today without the two of you and I have loved every minute that we have built our businesses together.

I attended NTC 2005 Las Vegas as a DM and found it to be the best investment I ever made towards my business. There, I realized what an amazing company we belong to and saw firsthand the potential impact it could have on my life, and the lives of people I shared it with. I saw women and men of all ages, who shared in the belief that Arbonne could potentially change their lives too. It is amazing to walk into a room with 8,000 ordinary people, from all walks of life, who have been graced with the gift of Arbonne. Whether you are in the infant stage of your business or on your way to NVP, attendance at NTC is fundamental. There is no better way to surround yourself with success than to participate in this all-important event!

At the end of April, I promoted to Area Manager. It took nine months of personal growth and learning to become a leader. I have learned that as amazing as Arbonne is, I must allow my team to see for themselves the “big picture” Arbonne has to offer. It is an amazing picture filled with the potential for an unbelievable income opportunity, huge rewards in the form of the Mercedes-Benz cash bonus program, earned travel opportunities and most of all, personal growth. Arbonne truly is a personal growth company disguised as a health and wellness company.

Of many valuable lessons, I have learned you cannot want this business for somebody more than they want it for themselves. You also cannot ask your team to do something that you are not willing to do yourself. I have learned the importance of setting goals and being held accountable for those goals. Write them down and work your hardest to achieve them. You may be surprised to find that happiness is achieved not so much from reaching your goals, but from the obstacles you have overcome and the lifelong relationships that you have forged along the way.

One of the most important lessons of all is that everyone else can believe you will succeed with Arbonne, but if you do not believe it, you will not achieve it. Equally, if no one believes you will succeed, as long as you believe it, you will most certainly achieve it. To rise out of mediocrity, you must not be afraid to fail. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, make a change! Get off the couch and into action! Remember, “If it is meant to be, it is up to me.”

To my sister and sponsor, NVP Becky Young: At 22, you are one of the youngest NVPs in Arbonne and a brand new mom! I am thankful to Arbonne that you will never have to place Grady in daycare, or miss his first words. You are the type of leader I wish to be like and although I am older, I will never claim to be wiser. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing Arbonne into my life.

To ENVP Sonya Shields: You are an Arbonne pioneer in Canada and the most amazing example of what I want to accomplish with Arbonne. Thank you for your dedication, support and guidance.

To my future NVPs, Jolynn Pugh, Dusti Whiteside, Susie Verde, Donna Booth, Cheron Chamberlain, Jill Del Guercio, Chelsie Frere and everyone in my SuccessLine who has contributed to this success: Thank you so much for your belief and commitment. We are a Region thanks to you!

To my dad, Barrie: You are our “Independent Courier with Arbonne International.” Thanks for all of your deliveries! To my mom, Fern: You truly are the Arbonne Queen. One day, Becky and I will have you building a business! To my brother, Cody: Thank you for your support of my business. I love you and cannot thank you enough. Pam, I cannot wait to see your Mercedes-Benz parked in the yard!

To all of my Clients: Thank you for your loyalty and love of Arbonne’s products.

At the beginning of my Arbonne journey, I read an Eye on Arbonne story where the Consultant stated, “Faith is believing before seeing.” That simple phrase has stuck with me ever since. I believe anyone can succeed, but you must have faith in the company, products, the people and most of all in yourself. Eventually, you may “see” the trappings of success, whether it is the Mercedes-Benz in your driveway, the ocean view on the latest ASAP trip, or a smile on your face.
