SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Be coachable, focus on activity and do the do.”

To the glory of God! These past three and a half years have been amazing. If five years ago you would have told me that I would be selling high-end skin care, working from home, leading an amazing, successful team, and driving a Mercedes-Benz, I would have laughed at you. But here I am, just a few short years later, with all of these blessings!

My journey began in the summer of 2006. My son had a friend whose mom was just starting her Arbonne business, and I found myself asking questions. After a bit, she gave me a sample and some information to check out the company on my own. I was scared! I had just purchased a year's supply of skin care products from another company the day before, and I knew that if I liked these products, I'd be hooked! I had quit my job as a truck driver six weeks before, and didn't have any extra money, especially not for purchasing skin care products. But I tried them and loved them ... then I started looking at the business more seriously. Finally, I gave the products and business information to my mom, and she was hooked, too! So I jumped in with both feet and never looked back. We didn't have any extra money to start a business, and I didn't have a lot of previous business success. But I was coachable, and I knew how to work. I focused on the activity and did the do.

My goal in the beginning was to become a Region in a year. When I decided to join the company, I met then RVP Erin Van Imschoot, who had just received her Mercedes-Benz after nine months of business, and thought I could do the same. But my journey took a little longer and I was very frustrated! I couldn't understand why I wasn't achieving my goal. Deep down, I didn't think I deserved it. Success wasn't for someone like me. I had all of these stories — lies — in my head that told me I wasn't worthy of such an accomplishment. Lies, all lies! It wasn't until I attended an Area Manager retreat that I was able to break free from the lies, and nine months later, I promoted to Region.

Arbonne has been an amazing gift to my family. It is a business that has allowed me to work around my life, instead of living life around work. My husband is now working a job that allows him to be home for breakfast and supper every night, instead of on call or in the bush, as life is for many husbands in oil country. Our family dream was to go to Disneyland while all of our children were still at home. The highlight of my car presentation was giving my four children their plane tickets! Dreams do come true, if you stop and dream. Even as I write this, I am camping with my family, in the middle of the week, after celebrating my oldest child's graduation. Because of the gift of time we have with Arbonne, I didn't have to ask for a day off!

To my children, Katie (17), Davina (15), Alex (13) and Mikayla (9): Thank you for cleaning up when I had meetings at the house, making suppers, being patient and forgiving me when I couldn't come to every event. I want you to know that you mean the world to me, and I am so proud of each of you for your own talents and gifts. Remember, you can do anything that you dream of. Dream big!
