SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Believe in yourself and the people around you.”

My journey with Arbonne began one short year ago, when NVP
Karen Skeels, who, at the time, had just started her own Arbonne business, called to tell me about the amazing products she had been introduced to. She recalled that my daughter, Abigail, had been struggling with eczema, and I was on her 100-person list. I was eager to try the products and also help Karen get her business going by hosting a home Presentation. That evening, Karen gave me an incredible gift without even knowing it, and asked me if I would be interested in starting my own Arbonne business. I remember thinking to myself I did not have the time. I was working 30-hours a week at our local emergency department as a registered nurse, my husband was working a full-time, labor-intensive job on top of running a smaller purebred cattle operation. We were trying to raise our two young children, too. I was already feeling stretched with my time, but I was also longing to regain control over our lives. I wanted desperately to be home with the kids and I was tired of passing Curtis in the hallway. We had never really had the option for me to stay home, and between unforeseen struggles on the farm and maternity leaves, we had fallen behind to the point that it was as if we were drowning. The only option seemed to be to sell the farm, the dream that Curtis had worked so hard to build, from a bare piece of land, over the past eight years.

Still, I could not get Arbonne off my mind. I read all the prospect literature Karen left for me. After a few days, I had fallen in love with the product samples my daughter and I were using. I knew this was something incredible. I could see it in my face and for the first time in over a year, Abigail did not cry after applying the baby lotion. Her skin felt softer and it was working. I was scared, but I was also excited. I knew nothing about network marketing and very little about skin care, but my confidence in the product was already unshakable and I wanted to share it with everyone. I decided to make the commitment to our dreams and set a goal to become an RVP in one year.

I held my first six Presentations in March of 2005. Karen helped me with my first and then I decided that I was ready to go on my own. I knew I had to get out there and do it if I was going to make this work. Making those first calls was hard, but not making them would have been even harder. I used our greatest tool and shared my passion and vision for my new venture with RVP Tobi Schutz. Just two weeks later, she joined without even trying the product. We became a team right from the start, and I am blessed to have her in my life. Shortly after that, another dear friend, now AM Dana Lakusta, joined my business. We went from being in qualification for District to becoming an Area. It was intense, hard work, but with the guidance and support of ENVP Sonya Shields and NVP Karen Skeels, and the hard work and belief of my SuccessLine, we made my first dream a reality. In September of 2005, my Arbonne business was doing well and we made the decision for me to stay home with the kids and focus on my next journey. For the first time in years, I was starting to feel in control of our life. As a team, we continued to share the opportunity and get the product into people’s hands. We sponsored new individuals who could see the passion and belief we had in our company and products. With the efforts of so many, we continued to grow and eventually became a Region in January of 2006. Every member of my team has had a role in our success and I wish I could list them all because I am so proud of their dedication and grateful for their help.

First, to my husband, Curtis, and our two beautiful children, Jacob and Abigail: You all are my reasons Why I am pursuing a better life through Arbonne. You have given me such an amazing opportunity that is changing my life. Your friendship, leadership and support taught me so much about who I am and who I want to be. I am forever grateful and blessed to have you in my life. To RVP Tobi Schutz: I cannot even begin to tell you how grateful I am to have you in my life. You have taught me so many things about myself and my business. We truly are partners and your friendship gives me strength. To AM Dana Lakusta: You are one of the busiest people I know and have taught me family is always number one. Thank you for your support, guidance and friendship.
