SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Perseverance is key. Never let excuses or obstacles get in the way of your dreams.”

When I got married 16 years ago, my uncle, a car salesman, spoke the toast to the bride, and compared the quality of his newly married niece to a Mercedes-Benz. Little did I know at that time that I would be driving one of my own, thanks to an incredible company — Arbonne!

My Arbonne journey began June 2006 when a very good friend of mine, Trudy Thibodeau introduced me to the Arbonne opportunity. At first, I did not think that I would be interested at all. I planned to just support her in buying products and that was it. I was much too busy to add a business to my life. I had been a part-time school teacher for 15 years, wife and mother of two very busy children. My days were full, morning until night!

Within hours of hearing about the philosophy behind Arbonne’s incredible products and the timing of this opportunity, I just knew that this would be my vehicle to continue to teach school part-time instead of full-time and teach because I want to, not because I have to. Something inside of me said that this was the right choice for me. I loved my teaching, but my teacher income was “inside a box” and my dreams for my family were “outside that box.” I knew, liked and trusted Trudy and her sponsor, ERVP Jennifer Mercer. I just knew that I needed to explore all that Arbonne had to offer.

Five days after my initial meeting, I jumped into my Arbonne business with both feet in the middle of school report cards and year-end craziness at school. I actually lost sleep over the excitement of my new adventure with Arbonne. I needed to be coachable and consistent with my efforts. To strengthen my belief in this opportunity and the products, I committed myself to all of Arbonne’s training resources. After one month, I completed District and after four months, I became an Area Manager.

My business has had its ups and downs, but I made the decision that no matter what, I was going to build a Region.

A turning point in my business was during the summer of 2007, I hit a dip that I was having a hard time climbing out of. I was upset that I was not putting forth my best effort into my business. I decided that I had two choices … to fall into the dip and never come out, or to find the strength and determination to get up and keep going. I had to remind myself that nothing good in life comes without obstacles. I knew that Arbonne was brought into my life for a reason. If I worked Arbonne, Arbonne would work for me. I had to move my business forward and in order to do that, I had to introduce something that I was lacking in my business. That was consistent goal-setting. I committed to putting my goals down on the computer and sending them to my leaders every week and recapping them weekly to keep me on track. By the end of the summer, I felt a transformation. This business went from “my head to my heart.” It started out one year earlier as a “smart” thing for me to pursue, but at that point, I knew in my heart that it was the “right” thing to do!

I went into qualification for Regional Vice President at the end of April 2008 and completed Region at the end of June, exactly two years to the date of completing District, again in the middle of report cards and the year end craziness at school. But now I can say that I can in fact teach because I want to, not because I have to. I am very happy that I can model to my own children that commitment, consistent effort and patience does pay off.

My Arbonne journey has just begun to flourish. It takes time, patience and a belief in oneself that success is possible.

I would like to thank my entire team for sprinting to the RVP finish line along with me.

To my sponsor, Trudy Thibodeau: Thank you for thinking enough of me to share the gift of Arbonne. Your support and guidance has always been amazing. I truly value our friendship.

To ERVP Jennifer Mercer: Thank you for setting the bar high and leading by example. I feel honored and privileged to be building my business alongside of you!

To ERVPs Dara and Royce Macklin: Thank you for your unwavering support from Oklahoma. You both have supported your Canadian team 100 percent.

To my Area Managers Tamara Christensen and Kammi Rosentreter: Thank you for allowing me to share the gift of Arbonne with you. I am so happy that you caught the vision right from the beginning.

To my District Managers Tracy Guhle, Debbie Bruneau, Cara Stark, Shauna Frig, Andrea Lyons-Kewley, Tracey McKinnon, Audrey Hochhausen, Susan Johnson, Delane Zacharko, Kendra Miller, Heidi Hough and Carmen St.Pierre: Remember that perseverance is key!

To my Consultants: Thank you for shopping and sharing!

To my parents, Marv and Jean Weir: Thank you for believing in me right from the start and “Arbonnizing” your home. You have instilled in me a strong work ethic and confidence that I can achieve anything that I put my mind to. I love you!

To my husband, Dale and my two children, Ryan and Lauren: Thank you for being patient as I am sure it seems that I have been working full-time between my teaching and Arbonne. Please know that I am striving to help make all of our dreams come true. I love you all!

When I was a little girl, my dad said to me that one decision can change your life forever. That decision for me was starting my Arbonne business. I encourage you to have the strength and determination to try something new. It just may get you somewhere different!
