SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Commit to talking about your business and reaching your goals.”

I left the workforce almost a decade ago to stay at home with my children and knew the time had come for me to go back to work. I had my degree, had worked in human resources and was even the first female ever to work in production in the oil and gas industry in the state of Qatar! I had enjoyed working, but I did not want to go back to work. It was not because I was lazy. I did not want to give up the things I had come to value in my life. I wanted to be accessible to my children when they needed me. I never wanted to have to tell them, “I can’t volunteer for your field trip because I have to work.” I did not want to tell my friends and family, “I don’t have the time for this or that because I have to work.” I decided that I needed to write down what it was that I did want, and focus less on what I did not want.

I asked myself, what did I really want? I wanted a new vehicle. I wanted to start saving for my retirement. I wanted to be free from living paycheque to paycheque. I wanted to have some money to travel. I wanted to have time for my children, my family and my friends. I wanted to watch my son score every goal in hockey. I wanted to watch my daughter in every dance performance. I wanted to pick my children up every day from school, to know their friends, to know their troubles and to know them. I wanted to spend time with my parents. I wanted to help them enjoy their retirement. At the end of it, I had a really long list of wants! Thankfully, because of Arbonne, I have the means to make that list a reality.

Arbonne gave me the incredible gift of being able to tell my children I would be able to volunteer for their field trips and to be around as they grew up. I even get to drive the snazziest, white Mercedes-Benz SUV on the block!

My journey started in the summer of 2005 when my friend and fellow Arbonne Independent Consultant, Leanne Zanutto, had her cousin, ENVP Tanis Gaitens, mail me an Arbonne NutriMinC® RE anti-aging skin care sample and a Product Catalogue. I had told Leanne I was looking to go back to work and she thought Arbonne would be a perfect fit for me. Of course, I threw away the sample and recycled the Product Catalogue! I told her I needed a “real” job!

A few months later, when Tanis came to Calgary, Leanne invited me to come to her house for an Arbonne Presentation and coffee. Reluctantly, I brought an extra pot of coffee, some flowers from my garden and hopped the fence. At that meeting, I got the chance to try the products for the first time. After trying the products, I saw the future and knew what I had to do. The moment I opened my mouth, I opened my business. I began talking about Arbonne, the business, the products and the ability to dream big dreams with everyone I knew. I saw the possibilities of being with one of the most successful and viable companies in North America as they broke ground in Canada.

Like any journey, there are good days and bad days. By sealing your commitment and remaining resilient through the ups and downs, you learn how to fit your business into the nooks and crannies of your daily routine. Before I knew it, I was writing my own Eye on Arbonne story!

Commit, commit, commit because when you do, everything just seems to fall into place. At the start of each day, commit to talking about your business, commit to your SuccessPlan and commit to reaching your goals, both personally and professionally. When you commit to your business and run it professionally, your universe of friends and family will assist you!

To my mom: Thank you for being my number one cheerleader and personal motivational coach! To my children: Thanks for helping around the house and for asking if you can still eat snacks in the new car. You visualized my success from day one!

To the wonderful Home Office staff at Arbonne: Your ability to handle all problems, big or small, is valued and appreciated!

To ENVP Tanis Gaitens: Thank you for supporting my team and me, and for bringing Arbonne into my life. With two teenagers, a toddler and a baby on the way, you still answered all of my phone calls!

To EAM Debra Pickett and AM Kelly Greening-Thoburn: You are both strong leaders with incredible visions. Your dedication and hard work will result in you driving the white Mercedes-Benz soon!

To EDMs, Nikki Doe, Christine Lajeunnesse, Kristine Semrau, Sandy Seefried and Adele Bourne: I am proud of you all. You are building incredible teams that the world’s best human resource department would have difficulty replicating!

To DMs, Alison Tarrant, Kaeley St. Peter, Crystal Parranto, Marilyn Patterson, Della Fraser, Maria Vella-Agricola Colleen Conway, Ashley de Wit and Gail Carter: Keep dreaming big dreams, commit to your plan and go for it. I believe in all of you because only a few months ago, I was a DM just like you.
