Amal Elfarou of Stittsville, Ontario, was seeking an opportunity that would allow her to work on her own terms. One simple choice changed the course of her life and created a dream come true.

I began my Arbonne business with no idea where I would start. What I did know is that I wanted to inspire and help change the lives of as many people as I could. I knew it was going to be through the premium Arbonne products and amazing business opportunity that I was going to do this.

I have always believed things happen for a reason, and I also believe most of us are where we are in life because of the choices we've made. It's because of this that I feel truly blessed I met ERVP Ann Kouimtzis. We met in a park while our children were playing together, and we soon developed a friendship.

A short time later, I was visiting Ann. I had just come from an interview at a spa, where I was told they wouldn't hire me because I wasn't able to work evenings or weekends. I was frustrated; I wanted something I could do on my time, that worked for my family. Ann gave me some product samples and told me there was a business opportunity with Arbonne.

Coming from a background in aesthetics and makeup artistry, I understood the formulations and quality of the products, which made me appreciate them so much more and want to share them with everybody I knew. It was perfect timing, as I was looking for something and Arbonne was a business I could work from home. That's all it took — I made the choice to become an Independent Consultant and my life is forever changed. I have grown both professionally and personally, and have met so many incredible people.

Having belief in yourself and others is very important. I never thought I would live the life I am living today; all I had to do was make a choice to better my life and open my mind to trying something new. Everything starts with your dreams. I have always had dreams of travelling, especially somewhere tropical. I would envision myself on a white, sandy beach, staring into the crystal-clear turquoise waters. That dream became a reality six months into my business, when I earned the Atlantis Bahamas incentive trip and took my family to a place I've only dreamed of going. It was truly amazing. Nothing will ever erase the memory of the looks on the faces of my boys. They were beyond excited. It was priceless.

All I have ever wanted is to give my family the time and the life they truly deserve. Who says we don't have choices in life? We do, and we are in control of our own future. I continue to dream big, and no matter what happens, I know I am meant for Arbonne.

Ann would always say, "We will have two Mercedes-Benzes in our neighbourhood," and now we do. My only advice is to share the Arbonne advantage everywhere you go. You will quickly see what it will do for you and the lives of so many others.

To the most important boys in my life, my husband, Raji and our two sons, Gaby and Naz: Because of you, I wake up each day with a smile on my face. You have believed in me and supported me from day one. Your love and encouragement mean the world to me. I love you always and forever.

To the Elfarou Region: Thank you for your belief in me and yourselves. You're the most incredible team of hardworking and driven individuals; I'm honoured and proud to know each of you. You're an inspiration. I love working with you and appreciate you more than you know. I'm looking forward to many future Regions and Nations.

To ERVP Ann Kouimtzis: Thank you for sharing the gift of Arbonne and believing in me. You have inspired me in many ways. You are the rock star leader everyone will follow, and I'm honoured to have you as a business partner. I will be forever grateful — I couldn't have done this without you. RVP: check. NVP next!

To NVP Jennifer Mercier: Your leadership skills and no-matter-what attitude are exactly what this business needs. You are extraordinary. Your encouragement and support over the last year have been incredible. Thank you for always raising the bar.
