SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Commit to excellence, become massively innovative and wear your passion on your sleeve.”

Tabatha DeBruyn of Kitchener, Ontario was looking for a way to supplement her income and fulfill her family's dreams. When she started her business, she soon realized it had the potential to provide much more ... today she is able to fulfill other's dreams as well as her own.

I didn't know I could get more out of life. Thirteen months ago, I would have said, “Life can't get much better.” I was a full-time high school teacher of 15 years, heavily involved in the life of my school, coaching dance and directing theatre shows and loving it. I was the mother of two beautiful boys, Justin and Jordan, and I had a husband, Shawn, who made me happier than I ever thought imaginable. We lived in a beautiful home filled with laughter and the hustle and bustle of everyday life; I was one very lucky lady! Like many hardworking Canadians, at the end of the month once the bills were all paid, my husband and I would always have the same frustrating conversations about how there was no extra money to do some of the lifestyle things we dreamed of doing with and for our family. We were very grateful for all we did have, but we were no longer dreaming of what we could do; rather, we were realizing what we couldn't. We knew if we wanted to travel with the kids, allow them to play all of the sports they wanted, save more for their university education, and get ahead on our mortgage, we had to find a way to add to our family finances. With such a busy lifestyle, a supplementary income solution seemed impossible, until I was introduced to Arbonne.

I took students to a dance competition where I saw one of the other dance teachers, Jocelyn Bell, looking amazing, and she told me she had switched to using Arbonne products and had started her own home-based business. I asked her how she had time, being a dedicated full-time teacher with a young family. She assured me that she could choose to work as much or as little as she wanted. I tried the Arbonne products and loved them! I started researching the products I was using and realized I definitely wanted to have Arbonne products in my home. Shawn and I decided to ask for more information about joining the business. Since Jocelyn was a six-and-a-half-hour drive away, she called her upline, Camilla Scott, who said she would be happy to train me. At first I didn't understand the beauty of network marketing, so I started selling the products hoping to make some extra money. Two months in, I realized there was so much more potential than a little supplementary income. My belief grew in the company, the products and, most importantly, myself. I did the research and learned that network marketing is brilliant for busy people. I decided to build a team and share this adventure with others. I realized this was my vehicle for freedom, but more importantly, we were able to dream big again and I was able to help others learn to dream again and change their lives too. Twenty weeks later, I was a Regional Vice President, and seven months after that I was a National Vice President. The true key to success in this business is to help as many people as possible achieve their goals, and your dreams can come true.

It hasn't been a comfortable journey. If it weren't for my husband and Camilla believing in me and this opportunity, I wouldn't be where I am today. I truly believe this is a personal growth company with the face of a personal care product company. I had to get over what other people thought. I had to ignore and rise above the dreamstealers or those who thought they knew better for me and my family. I had to believe in myself and realize I didn't need other's approval. Because I had the support of Shawn and the boys, my sister-in-law Helena, and my incredible upline, I have changed our future and I now have the chance to influence and inspire many others.

From the day I signed up my first Independent Consultant, I took my job of sponsoring and training very seriously. I learned as much as I could as quickly as possible. I made sure my Consultants were set up for success, with all the tools and training they needed to become confident and competent. I work under the philosophy that if I do everything I can to help my team become successful, my success will follow. Commit to excellence, become massively innovative and wear your passion on your sleeve. When you do, you will radiate all this opportunity has to offer. My personal growth and fulfillment has surpassed any monetary amount I could ever make.

The Arbonne products can help change the way you look and feel, but the business changes lives. I have seen how this business can change family situations for the better. My Arbonne business is allowing us to give back and help others. Now we can afford for our children to be involved in any of the sports they wish, but we also sponsor teams to allow others the same chance. We have been able to save not only for our children's education, but also to build a school for children where education would not otherwise be possible.

I look at my Arbonne journey as an adventure with endless peaks of possibility. All the results, no matter how exciting, are but stepping stones to future possibilities. I have been so fortunate to have made it to this height, and I am invigorated by the success and grateful for the growth, but most of all I'm inspired by the new opportunities made visible by this accomplishment.

To Jocelyn Bell: I will be forever grateful that you shared and encouraged me to look at Arbonne as a business opportunity. You have always inspired me as a teacher and now you also inspire me as a businesswoman.

To ENVP Camilla Scott: How can I put into words what you have offered me and my family? You saw potential in me I never knew I had and your belief in this company is contagious. I am so fortunate to have you as a mentor and a friend.

To my RVPs, Mike and Julie Stowe and Helena DeBruyn: Thank you so much for the unwavering support and patience as I am learning. I am so grateful for the passion and hard work you and your incredible teams share. You all conduct yourselves with such care and integrity.

To my Area Managers, Sonya Cole, Virginia Amorim, Jacquiline Lindsay, Nancy Fortier, Nicole Price, Janet Crawford, Cindy Bennis and Bridget Leon: Smell the leather ladies ... you deserve it! I'm so grateful to be on this journey with you and your teams.

To my District Managers, Jodi Barendregt, Tammy Redwood, Anne Tucker, Erin Fanner and Kristy Mallet: Thank you for your belief in me and all of your hard work. I'll be here for you every step of the way.

To all of my Clients: Thank you for your ongoing support. You gave me a firm foundation on which to build this business.

To my Arbonne sisters, Joanne Vizzini Lobo, Maggie Easton, Valerie Darien, Suzanne VanParys, Alex Trimble and Lital Mintz Snir: You exemplify all this company is about by sharing and supporting at every turn. I feel so very fortunate to have each of you in my life.

To my dear friends, Julie (my very first customer), Greg (my sounding board), Erin (my cheerleader) and Kelly (the person who keeps my feet planted firmly on the ground); my in-laws, Barb and Tony DeBruyn (whose pride in me and help with my kids means more to me than words can say); my parents, Jim and Cheryl and my sister, Tatum (my inspiration and my biggest fans): Your support, kind words of encouragement and authenticity mean more to me than you will ever know.

And finally, to Shawn, Justin and Jordan: This has been a joint venture. We have all been learning as we go and I know this has been a busy time, but it has brought us even closer together and it is allowing us to live the life of our dreams. I am grateful for all you do to help with the business, from loading and unloading the car, to washing and drying foot bins, answering numerous calls and taking good messages, and adding to the team's family tree, but I especially love it when you say, “Mom, you inspire me and have shown me that I can do anything I want in life!”

To CEO Kay Napier and everyone else at Arbonne who continues to appreciate and support us: I am grateful for this opportunity to dream again and teach others to live their greatest life. I am very proud to be part of the Arbonne family.
