SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Sometimes in the winds of change, we find our true direction.”

My Arbonne journey started two and a half years ago and I remember my life being extremely busy. The last thing on my mind was to start my own business. At the time, I was working in the Emergency Room at Whistler, a job I had enjoyed for 19 years. I was not one of those people who wanted a career change, as I loved the people I worked with and loved helping others. I was just looking for some additional money to help with “extras” in my newly purchased home.

I am a firm believer that things appear in your life for a reason ... even if that reason isn't clear at the time. Never in a million years did I think I would be doing a business like Arbonne. However, in June 2007, as I painted my new home, remodeled the bathroom, set up phones and moved my belongings, I also managed to host my first Presentation — all in 12 days!

I still look back and wonder what exactly it was that made me take that huge step out of my comfort zone, but today I am so grateful I did. Sometimes you need to have faith and courage before your direction in life is revealed. If you are reading this considering the opportunity, I encourage you to jump in and start Arbonne, as you never know what change may be around the corner.

For seven months, I worked my Arbonne business alongside my ER job, dropping off kits on my way to work, making follow-up calls during my breaks, and enjoying the incredible enthusiasm of my first builder, Tina.

Then, due to a family illness, I found myself wanting the flexibility to travel to Australia. Finally, it was clear why Arbonne had come into my life, why I had started seven months prior and what a true gift I had been given with the opportunity. I chose to leave the ER, make Arbonne my plan A, and spend the time I needed in Australia.

Here I met my first Australian builders, Lynne and Milissa. These girls kick-started a deeply buried dream of living, working and traveling between Australia and Whistler. I cannot thank these two girls enough for believing in my dream and starting their own journey.

On December 17, 2009, due to an amazing team effort we became a Region, and in January my sponsor Julie and I had a double Mercedes-Benz Car Presentation. I love having an international business and am amazed at how my life now looks. I am able to travel, be with my friends and family, and enjoy my home in Whistler, all while working the hours I choose. For me, this is my dream life that I never thought I could have.

Along my journey I have had challenges I didn't expect, but I have learned that the harder you work, the more you get back, and life always brings change. Change is not always welcome, but if you embrace it, you will encounter some amazing experiences. Some will be fantastic and some harder to deal with; however, you will learn from them all. Remember that no matter your background, education or finances, if you want something enough in your heart, if you do the right activity and you work hard, you will succeed. Never give up on your dreams and always have the courage to take that next step and change your life.

It is an honour to watch my incredible team develop to their full potential. I love how they dream big every day. I have learned so much from each of you and I will not stop until you all have your Mercedes-Benz keys!

To my sponsor, ERVP Julie Nash: Thank you for offering me the gift of Arbonne.

To AM Tina Durlacher: You were my first builder, my first Ace and you are one of the most enthusiastic people I know. I have learned so much from you — usually between midnight and 2 a.m.! I truly treasure our friendship.

To AM Milissa Lennon: You are one of the most amazing women I have met and you are always so willing to share all of your fantastic ideas with us — I love that about you. You have a true Arbonne heart and that car is coming soon!

To AM Cath Cooke: I love your ability to dream big for your family and I will never forget how you finished AM eleven days after having little Amelia — you are a true inspiration to us all.

To DM Lynne Chao: You were my first Australian builder and I can't thank you enough for having faith in me and for believing more in the Arbonne products than anyone I know.

To DM Meg Capaldi: You have been a huge sounding board for me over the past year and I am so excited to see what 2010 brings to your life.

To my DMs, Nicole Connelly, Kali Deans, Moira Halliwell, Chantal Black and Karen Giglia: It has been great working with all you “corporate moms.”

To ERVP Jen Ogrodniczuk: Without you, my Region would not be here. Thank you for starting this dream.

To NVP Krista Bernard: I was so lucky in the early days that you took a personal interest in me — I couldn't have asked for a more amazing leader, so full of energy and support. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for all you do for my team.

To our amazing President Rita Davenport, CEO Kay Napier, John Darraugh and Michelle McPhie: You lead us with such energy and love.

To my Clients and Consultants: Thank you for loving the Arbonne products as I have and for your support over the past two and a half years.

And finally, to Mike, who believed in me more than I believed in myself: You have always been there for me and I would not be here without your never-ending support and smile. I love you and look forward to many more fun adventures together.
