SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Be consistent because that is the key to success.”

Before Arbonne, my life was similar to many other professionals out there. I made a good income, had job security, worked long hours, was dedicated to my career and had started my ascent up the corporate ladder. Yet, I was not happy.

My husband and I decided it was time to start a family. I knew when I was on maternity leave that I would have to take a good hard look at what I wanted to do with my life (besides raise my child). I have always been very driven and wanted to have something to call my own, but I never seemed to have the time or money to do the research, or invest in my own company.

Then, NVP Tiffany Haugrud came back into my life. I can remember her as a toddler wearing a diaper and ponytails. I offered to hold a Presentation for Tiffany a few months before I went on maternity leave. I have to tell you, I cancelled a couple of times on her but she was persistent, which is key to this business. I held the Presentation and she gave me some information about the business, though we did not talk business that evening. I threw the package into my magazine bin and did not look at it again for eight months. Then Tiffany sent me an e-mail one day in May of 2005 and I replied back to have her take me off her e-mail list. I pressed send and thought to myself, “What if this is something I should be looking at?” We went for coffee the next day and that evening I could not sleep. I was so excited and could not stop thinking of the people I could share this opportunity with. What excited me even more was the thought of what it could do for me.

I dabbled in home Presentations through the summer and decided I needed to get out of my comfort zone. I resigned from my job in October, with two months of maternity leave left. In January of 2006, we started using the Arbonne=REsults™ reach out method and things really started to move. Two months after NTC 2006 St. Louis, I was in qualification for RVP and the following month, I finished and promoted to Regional Vice President.

Through all this excitement, I also ran into many obstacles along my way: A miscarriage, my dog getting cancer (all you pet lovers can relate), expenses relating to the cancer, a stay in the hospital and a separation from my husband. Still, I had more determination than ever to make Arbonne work. The great thing about Arbonne is you can work this business part time, although not some of the time. This flexibility allowed me to deal with all the personal issues I had to deal with, while still providing for my daughter and me.

ENVP Carol Egleston said one thing that has really stuck with me through this past year: “The only way to fail is to quit.” I always kept that in the back of my head. We all have had bad days, but I always knew tomorrow was a new day and as long as I kept working hard, I was going to get there. I have learned I need to believe in myself, never give up or prejudge anyone. Arbonne has been a gift. To me, it was all about timing; that is how I look at this business whenever I share it with someone. I let them know I just want to share this amazing opportunity and it is up to them whether they are ready to open their gift; if not, I ask them to just put it away in a safe place until the timing is right for them.

To NVP Tiffany Haugrud: If you had not been persistent a year ago, I would not be where I am today. Thank you for the gift.

To my sister, RVP Leah Emmerson: You were my first business builder and said you had to jump on the train because if I made it, and you did not give it a try, you would not forgive yourself! You trusted me and I am very grateful. Now we have matching Mercedes-Benzes.

I could not have gotten here without my incredible team.

To DM Victoria Hostland: Your excitement is contagious. I cannot wait for you to get your Mercedes-Benz. To one of my dearest friends, DM Lori Sharkey: You deserve this more than anyone. To DM Sasha Nowicki: I knew we would become great friends from the first moment I met you. You will be at the top very soon. To DM Shannon Lefroy: I am so happy you are part of my team and RVP is right around the corner.

To Area Manager Amy Renning and RVP-in-qualification Kim Hvala: We reconnected again after not seeing each other since high school. You girls are powerhouses. To Area Manager Lorraine Lueders and her team: To think that this was not for you and now you are shooting for first-step qualification for RVP this month.

To all my Consultants: I know District Manager is right around the corner for you. To my Consultants who purchase product at the discount: Thank you for believing in me. You have helped me to build a phenomenal business and have allowed me to start living my dreams.

To ENVP Carol Egleston: Thank you for the heart-to-heart talks. You mean more to me than you know.

To my mom and Roger: Thank you so much for supporting me and purchasing endless amounts of products. I know your linen closet is getting full. To my dad: Thank you for giving me your good business sense. I picked that up as a little girl, watching you run your businesses, and I knew I could do the same one day.

To my husband, Brad: Thank you for being so supportive and believing in me. You said, “You can do anything you put your mind to.” To Ava, the love of my life: You are my Why.

If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting. What were you doing a year ago? Are you doing the same thing right now? What will you be doing in a year? Is it time to start living your dreams?
